L & K Electric was originally founded in 1946 as an electrical service company. The current owners purchased it in 1976 and since that time has been servicing Southern Idaho. Our company currently performs the following electrical services: repair of AC and DC electrical motors, build control panels and phase converters, trouble shoots electrical equipment break downs, service calls for commercial and industrial companies, wiring commercial and industrial buildings, wiring and trouble shooting sewer plants, sewer lift stations and water pumping stations for municipal agencies through out Southern Idaho. We presently employ electricians who are crossed trained in all of our service area’s and can be dispatched in a timely manner 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Many of our customers have been with us for several years; we have had numerous compliments on the excellent quality of our work and our service being done in a timely manner.

We have Journeyman Electricians specializing in different fields of work. We feel that this gives our customers a wide range of work experience from our company. Our strengths are industrial and commercial wiring, building and servicing electrical and motor control panels, as well as our complete repair shop for electric motors and pumps. We strive to be well rounded in all aspects of the electrical field.

Project Manager

Our project managers also hold Journeyman Licenses. Our project managers have 20 plus years experience. Our focus is on customer service, overseeing work performance of our electricians, as well as bidding new jobs for our company.

Journeyman Electricians

Two Journeyman Electricians have 20 plus years experience with our company. They have great leadership as well as work experience. They perform work in the industrial and commercial areas, with strong emphasis in control work, electric motor repair and re-wind, and pump repair. One of our Journeyman Electricians taught the electrical apprenticeship course at BSU for 14 years.

Three other Journeyman Electricians range from 7 to 15 years of experience in the electrical trade. Their work performance is outstanding; they each bring different work skills to our company. They perform work in industrial, commercial, residential, and service work. Two of the journeyman have extensive experience in street lighting, traffic signals, traffic loops and intersections.

Our Journeyman Motor Winder has 20 plus years experience with our company. He can perform work on motor repairs, re-winds, pumps, generators and phase converters. We have a complete motor shop as well as make on-site service calls.

Apprentice Electricians

Two Apprentice Electricians range from 2 to 3 years of experience. They accompany our Journeyman Electricians, learning the trade hands-on. They have knowledge and experience in all aspects of worked performed by our company. They get stronger in their work experience the farther they go in school and in the field. One has extensive experience in DC motors.

Past Projects Performed

Some of our recent projects include J's Ultimate Car Wash, Metro Express Car Wash, the Meridian School District, the Boise School District, and the Nampa School District. Our company holds the contract for Ada County Western Idaho Fair Grounds. We perform various duties that includes all electrical maintenance and any electrical requirements for the fair and interim events. We do all motor repair and maintenance up-keep for the US Postal Service. We also do control work on pumps and well houses for the City of Mountain Home Sewer and Water Department. We have numerous regular customers that we service industrial and commercial projects both on-site and in our shop.
